Production Manager |
Position description:
Lead, guide and direct all functional area personnel in the daily manufacturing operations of production and scheduling in support of the Company’s business objectives.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Comply with and understand all safety rules and job hazards. Perform job responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner. Plan, organize, direct and control all manufacturing activities through department personnel and 2nd and 3rd shift supervision, to ensure that departmental goals and plant objectives are met. Maintain established EHS measures that support the health and welfare of all plant personnel and maintenance of plant resources. Ensure production of quality products that meet customer acceptance at a competitive cost. Establish and implement systems to continually improve manufacturing costs, manpower, material, and budget controls in support of the plant’s business objectives. Oversee functional areas TPM, PMP and daily maintenance programs to ensure optimum efficiency in equipment and facilities. Oversee plant-scheduling activities, including purchasing and managing raw materials, Work-In-Process, and finished goods. Ensure proper administration of employee relations programs and policies, which maximize human resource utilization and morale.
Responsible for coordinating production area employees’ recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Perform 5S as required by department best practices. Direct and coordinate efforts with Process Engineer. Support and participate in plant initiative teams, including but not limited to: Pro-Safety, safety checks, environmental, process improvements, root cause, etc. Comply with and understand all environmental regulations. Place recyclables in appropriate place.
Perform similar job-related duties as assigned and housekeeping activities as needed. Keep abreast of technical advances in manufacturing.
Position requirements:
Undergraduate degree preferably in business, management, or a manufacturing related discipline, preferred; or equivalent professional experience. At least 5 years at management level in a manufacturing environment preferred. Textile experience in glass, carbon and aramid fabrics or synthetic yarns, preferred. Experience with Lean Principles, such as, 5S, TPM, JIT, Kanban, Kaizen, Pull Scheduling, etc., preferred. PC literate including experience on current PC software such as MS Word and Excel. Knowledge of and comfort in Systems and MRP. Regular attendance on company premises is required. The salary goes to $85,000. Full relocation package provided. |
